Myca Mouse and I had the best trip yet August 17-22nd. It was amazing! The weather wasn't nearly as bad as we expected...very tolerable. My sister and her BF also had a fabulous time. I really don't have time to do a trip report so I am going to share my web album...just a warning...there are ALOT of pictures! I get a little snap happy:D

We were originally booked at PoP but about a week before our trip we got a call that PoP was overbooked. We were offered All Star Music or All Star Sports and we were offered an upgrade to Preffered at no cost. I was fine with moving and Myca had been begging me to stay at All Star Sports again. We stayed there for her 5th Birthday trip in 2007. So All Star Sports it was.

I had already done online check-in for Pop so I wasn't sure if I could do it again for ASsports...I went back to the online check-in site and sure enough...I was able to re-do it for All Star Sports.

Our room was in the football section and we were so close to the food court! It was great! Totally worth the change in resorts. I bet we only had about a 30 second walk from our room to the food court...maybe a bit longer but thats how fast it seemed. This was a real asset at the end of our 3:00am night at MK :)

We did the Behind the Seeds Tour and it was so interesting! I wish my hubby could have gone...he would have loved it...although...after seeing the pics from this trip and hearing about the tour...I got him and my stepson to both agree to come along in 2012!!:thumbsup2:

We tried SO hard this trip to do Characters in Flight. Every time we were ready to head to DTD the weather would turn sketchy...I was pretty disapointed we didn't go. We are going to do it(weather permitting) the night before the BOGP Cruise.

Well, I will let you get to the pics...hope you enjoy them...this was really the perfect trip for Myca Mouse's birthday...Disney still amazes me with every passing trip:)

Hey Be Our Guest Friends! I am just usually a reader, but I decided to post my trip report. I posted on Passporters, but decided to post here, because I want to relive my trip ONE MORE TIME. (so if you read this on the other board, you can skip it if you like!):)

When: June 13-19, 2010
Who: Me (Elizabeth). Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher (that’s Home Economics if that name is unfamiliar). I love Disney. I have been there 3 ½ times. My first trip was in August 1979- only the Magic Kingdom was open- they broke ground on Epcot in October of that year. Fast forward to 2006 for my ½ trip-I had to go to Orlando for a Model Schools Conference. The conference was held at the Gaylord Palms, but- the overflow was at Port Orleans Riverside. I got to stay there for 2 nights. A co-worker and I only had a few hours at a park- and we spent 6 hours at the Magic Kingdom one evening. I call that my ½ trip because 6 hours is not enough to count as a full trip!!!! (Also took one night to go to Emeril’s restaurant at Universal Citywalk)
My 2nd trip came in August 2007- my girls clog with a competitive clogging team. The team clogged at Disney in the Magic Kingdom (Galaxy Theatre-which I have heard has been taken away). 2 day trip.
My daughters in their clogging picture this year:

My 3rd trip came in April 2008- my daughter’s high school band travelled to Disney to perform and they also performed at Kennedy Space Center. 3 day trip.
DH (Mike) This will be his first trip to Disney. He is a great guy-We have been married 24 ½ years (will celebrate 25 years in November). He is not sure if he will like it. DH is a self-employeed landscape designer and he pastors a church.
DD (Rebekah-age 16) This will be her 3rd trip to Disney. Loves thrill rides. Loves amusement parks. Her favorite character is Belle. She even found a yellow dress like Belle’s for her prom dress this year.

DD (Hannah-age 14) Also her 3rd trip to Disney. Hannah also loves thrill rides. Her favorite character is Donald Duck.

DS (Suzanne) and her DH (Jason) and their DS (Andrew)- DS and DBIL have been to Disney once on a school trip. This will be Nephew’s first trip.
My Mom (Caryl)- almost 70 years old- but is still working in school administration. This will be her first trip!
Aunt (Phyllis)- Has been to Disney numerous times- she used to teach middle school and would bring students down on trips.

Where to Stay: We researched various places on-site and off-site. With nine people, we would have to have at least 3 hotel rooms ($$$$$$). We also considered that my Mom and Aunt did not want to go to the parks everyday- they wanted time to just relax and maybe to go shopping. My husband would also need a place to prepare his sermons for the following Sunday and he would need a place to study. So we looked into All Star Vacation Homes and felt this was our best option. Found a home with 4 bedrooms and 3 baths- full kitchen and private pool in the Windsor Palms community.

Transportation: We chose to drive to the World this time. It was much cheaper and we would need a car since we were staying off property. Also- we live in North Carolina- so the drive is only 9 ½ hours. And we brought not one but THREE cars. We felt that we would need the freedom of each family group having wheels. Also, we have to arrive in stages. My sister and her family and my mom and aunt are planning to leave around 7:00 am. My family will leave around 9:00 am (we have to take our dog to my in-laws house)
How this trip came to be: It all started in October 2009, when I looked at the school calendar and I mentioned to my husband that the girls and I have a whole week off from school after Christmas…..Let’s go on a trip!! We tried to think of what would be close to NC. We thought about Disney World. My mom had been talking about taking the whole family to Disney, so I mentioned it to her, and my sister- we all agreed- we would go the week after Christmas.
I had a Beranbaum’s guide book, but thought I might need something more- so I trekked to Barnes and Noble and purchased The Unofficial Guide. The second day I had the book I read “the most crowded week is the week after Christmas”. I knew that my husband would have no patience for the big crowds. So, my sister, my mom and I set the date for June 13-19. School ends on June 10, so we should be ok. (on a big note here- both of my daughters have perfect attendance in school- My oldest dd (age 16) has one more year of high school-so if she makes it next year-she will graduate with 13 years of perfect attendance. Her sister, dd (age 14) also has perfect attendance since kindergarten. So- missing school is out of the question!)
We made reservations with All-Star Vacation Homes, and purchased tickets from Undercover Tourist. We were so excited. Then- the winter of 2010 hit. North Carolina was hit with a TON of snow- and we missed several days of school. Would the school calendar be changed? Would we have to change our vacation date?

I'm not going to bother doing a traditional trip report in the usually sense of the word. Consider this a basic update that will be in several different parts. Starting with some basic MK photos that will do most of the talking.

First things first, when I got to my resort and finished checking in, I was approached by a Disney research person. He asked me if I would mind keeping a"diary" of my basic activity during the day. In the diary, I wrote where I went, the money I spent on both merchandise and food, the number of merchandise locations I entered and the number of FP I used.

This is the outside cover of the diary:

This is the what the pages I filled out actually looked like:
Anyway, on to MK:

Work is still going on around MS:

The Carousel's new sign:
