    Resort Parking

Starting at the Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, Disney will no longer issue parking permits upon check in; guests will use their Magic Bands for parking at the resort and theme parks.

I agree with Russell. Identifying guests' cars and free park parking were the only uses I ever saw for the the parking passes. The resorts already had key (and now RFID) readers at the gates, so there was never a need to show anything once you had checked in. Putting readers at the parks eliminates one of the reasons for the passes. It also paves the way for unmanned entry gates (allowing them to lay off yet more cast members).

That's a good point. I wonder how they will identify visitors. I've never driven while at Disney so it won't affect me.
