Of course having 4 home resorts isn't perfect either. We book a 2 bedroom in August for usually 9 nights which typically is 325-450 points. I don't have that many points at any one resort so I can never book the full trip at 11 months. We do try to think ahead and hopefully bank points for the next resort we are staying at. We did that with AK so with banked points and current points we had enough to book 7 nights standard view for August. I still need to book the first 2 nights which I can do on Sunday. We may surprise everyone and bump up to Savannah view (this would cause the need to basically cancel and re-book). I'm a little torn since we did standard view last year and I enjoyed taking a walk to the observation area at Kidani to view the animals each morning. Of course the rest of my family doesn't get up so early so it will help them.

Last year for BLT 2 bedroom Standard View, we used banked, current and borrowed to book 6 nights and then sweated it out as there are only 8 dedicated 2 bedroom standard view rooms at BLT (I check daily and most of our dates for 2015 are gone with this view), but we luckily got the other 3 nights. With so many Northeast DVC owners that have school starting closer to or after Labor Day, it can be a challenge to book from August 16th-30th when the point chart goes down.

We picked up BWV last year on resale for $65 a point and bought it specifically for F&W. It was bigger than we needed, but not by a lot. We are going to take a break from buying more contracts and start to pay for some college tuition.
When we book a 2BR at BLT we try to get one of those 8 standard view room also. We need it for my one son's family. We did it twice and were lucky enough to get the same villa twice that was in a perfect location. I always go for the standard rooms also. Have to save those points for more stays.

For a resale $65 a point, at this time, for BkWk is very good. Even the resales prices have gone up a lot. Of course, for what Disney is selling them for now what can you expect. I am glad I bought almost all of mine during the recession.

With my different UseYear contract I can transfer these points into my main Use Year contract, but you can't see them to book on line. So I usually book what I want from main use year account on line and then call at 9:00am to have it changed to use my transferred in points. Sometimes they have to go to a specialist and that takes time. If I just use that contract separately it would make it easier. It is a 60 point one so in value season that would be 6 nights in a value studio at AKL So it wouldn't be very hard to use it that way. I will probably try to do that. I bought that resale, because I needed more AKL points and became so tired of waiting to get an Oct. small contract I just bought this Sept. one. I tried for another AKL resale and after the verbal agreement the seller backed out. It was very disappointing.
Who did you buy your resale through? All mine were though Realesdvc.com

I have only heard good things about them also. I think the Timeshare store would be another good one. http://www.dvc-resales.com/

These are the three I have heard good things about:

So we bought from the other reputable reseller which is Fidelity. I would constantly monitor all 4 sites. The 1st dealing wasn't the smoothest up front as far as response time for communication , but once the agreement happened it went smoothly after that. The 2nd and 3rd contracts went very smooth. I think it got better as we knew each other and they knew I was a solid buyer.

We bought my first 3 contracts direct through DVD. We used our Disney Visa to buy them and got the rewards points (yes I needed to increase our limit ). The 1st contract was a promotion to Disney shareholders (I bought a few shares in the 1990's) and the 2nd contract there was another strong promotion. With the 3rd contract in 2010, DVD/C toured some cities including Boston inviting DVC owners to attend. We kept saying we aren't buying, only going to get our Disney fix and a few freebies and then bought 100 shares at BLT! We need to stay away from those cheesy sales gimmicks!

I will remember that you have had good luck with them. I'm still looking for a small AKL contract with an Oct. Use year.

If it helps feel free to use my name. I dealt with Sharon Reper. She might remember me. One thing to take note in is that Fidelity has a $195 admin fee. The prices I've paid I still felt very good about even with the fee, but obviously for a 60 point contract that's an additional $3 a point. I'm sure you check the same sites as I do to know what most contracts are selling for.

I've heard you need to have a little patience with Fidelity. Some have said that a lot of contracts that come their way are directed from DVC. I'm not sure if that means they are struggling contracts that may be foreclosed on soon if they don't sell. In any case, it's better for them to sell here than a foreclosure that goes against their credit. The prices on their site seem to be more all over the place than other sites, but I've seen a lot of better prices than other sites.

I cancelled reservations online. The points reverted correctly. I was able to use points differently now with my booking being at 7 months. I'll still need to call to combine the 2 reservations later this week, but it's nice to have Kidani booked for August for all 9 nights. I still wish you could modify online. Hopefully that will come soon.

                Thanks again for the help.

Oh nice! Glad that worked out Bob... I would have never thought you couldn't modify online before you & Jackie brought it up!
