  • Getting to know you!

Ok guys.. I think it would be fun if we all listed some random, interesting, not so interesting, and just fun facts about ourselves here ... just to get to know each other a bit more.. what do you think? (I guess I got inspired by the Disunplugged show today)..

    I'll start!

    1. I was born in Germany because my father was in the military, but I speak no german and really don't remember it at all. I'm half mexican though and can speak a bit of spanish but I really want to get to the point where I am fluent in it!

    2. I used to have a job where I built pacemakers.

    3. I can pick things up with my toes (my husband thinks that's freaky)

    4. I learned to read at a young age and love reading though I don't have much time for it now, I used to bring my books to the dinner table as a kid

    5. I once bought a ticket to Bonnaroo (a huge woodstock type festival in tennessee) without knowing how I would get there then I ended up catching a ride to it with a girl I barely knew and her family.. her father turned out to be a racist and got into a fight while we were there which I witnessed! Needless to say it was an interesting trip!

    6. my husband tim and I met online in 1999 and didn't get together until 2005 when we started talking on the phone daily and ended up meeting for a summer concert in Philly.

    7. I have a scar on my face from when I fell in 4th grade and cut myself with one of those stick things with a ribbon on the end of it! lol. seriously. My 4th grade school picture is me with a boy haircut and a huge bandaid across my face.. It was either the band aid or being able to see the black stitches in my face. ew.

    8. My first concert was when I was 12.. my mom took me to see Bon Jovi and Skid row in Houston.. I wore the concert tee to school the next day and felt sooooo cool!

    9. When I was a little kid I couldn't say "quack" right for some reason (the sound a duck makes) and it sounded more like f*$k and my parents thought it was hilarious.. I'm pretty sure they would have me say it for their friends at dinner parties.

    10. I didn't get my first kiss until I was 18.. 18!! (I was pretty shy as a kid/teenager) I felt like a freak about that for the longest time but I have since made up for it!

    OK.. your turn!!!!

I Love this idea, really nice to find out bits & bobs about you all, ok my turn.

          1) I was born and lived as a child in Coventry a large town in the middle of England, before moving to a small village on the outside of town just as I went to High school.

          2) When I was little (6ish) I was determined that I didnt want Boobs, my mum use to tell me I didnt have to have them if I didn want to.

          3) As a kid I was in the Archery team for the county.

          4) I dont have a job more a whole way of life running a pub, just outside of Gatwick Airport.

          5) I met my husband in the pub at a Casino theme night.

          6) After 8 years we finally got married in March this year (at Disney)

          7) We havent got any children, nor do we intend to have any.

          8) I'm not very good at making friends, not so much shy, just dont like to interupt people or see why they would want to talk to me.

          9) Im a bit of a control/ tidy freak / OCD person.

          10) I live in hope that one day I can live in the states, as I think I was born to be American.

              that's so funny!

              7) We havent got any children, nor do we intend to have any.
I think that is awesome... what I mean is, I think that so many people have kids just because they think it is "the thing to do" or they get pressured by others to do it and not because they themselves want kids... if you know kids are not for you then good for you in making that decision!

              8) I'm not very good at making friends, not so much shy, just dont like to interupt people or see why they would want to talk to me.
of course we want to talk to you and get to know you.. that's why this thread is called "getting to know you!" plus.. we all have disney in common here!

              10) I live in hope that one day I can live in the states, as I think I was born to be American.
you know, it is my dream to someday get to europe on vacation and sometimes I imagine retiring there or something.. I never think about how people other places are probably daydreaming about coming to America!

                  Yes, yes, boring and yes.

I got paid $80 per day. We often filmed really late at night, sometimes I wouldn't get home until 4am. We also sometimes filmed in not-so-nice neighborhoods so for those long periods of standing around waiting, you really couldn't even go anywhere. I usually played a SWAT team member so at least I LOOKED like a policeman. lol

I met the entire cast at one point or another. Most of them were very nice/cordial. Richard Belzer, however, was a jerk.

Even though most times it was boring, it was fun and I have the keepsakes on DVD.

If you get that biological itch, I'll send you mine for a weekend. That'll cure you if you fall off the wagon.

I love my kids dearly of course but kids are not for everyone, that's for sure. Not that this is your case, but I've seen so many people who have them then don't bother to actually raise them. Sad.

1: I was born in the Bronx, NY and lived their for the first 3 years of my life. My entire family is from there so i still consider that I semi-grew up there (the bronx accent does come out every once in awhile haha)

2: Everybody always assumes I'm Jewish based on my last name (Hoffman) but I'm half italian and roman catholic and that side tends to be the more dominant side

3: My grandma was born and raised in England and met my American Grandpa when he was stationed in England during WWII. The came back to American and got married after the war ended. We still have family there and visit as much as we can

4: My major in college was sport management and I worked for a minor league baseball team for 3 years after graduation

5: My Italian family is huge!!!!! I've been blessed to have them in my life. Especially my great grandparents! I lost my first set of them 2 weeks apart from eachother when I was 16. The other set, Grandpa passed away in Dec 06 when I was 22 and Grandma passed last january when I was 24. I still do this day can't believe I had great grandparents for that long!

6: My uncle wrote the song "Walk Away Renee" which was performed by the Left Banke in I think it was the 60s

7: I went to high school with the little boy from Jurassic Park

8: My uncle is in mens fitness magazine's fat to fit program right now! You can check out his progress on www.mensfitness.com he's Robert and has lost 47 lbs in just a few months

9: I ran into the corner of my grandmas bed when I was 8 and put a small hole in my head. i still have the scar right behind my left ear

Ok let?s see?a few facts about me?

                              1) I was born in Columbia, SC. However we moved a lot so I?ve also lived in Atlanta, Ga (twice), Birmingham, Al, Wilmington, NC and Woodstock, Ga. But we somehow ended up back in Columbia for my school years so I was there from kindergarten through college.

                              2) I?ve been doing theatre since I was five-years old.
