Default Michelle & Sam head to POP & MNSSHP 10/14-10/18 - Complete 11/3!

Time to start a PTR to get my thoughts in order! We are down to 16 days and are so excited to be going back to our favorite place very soon!

Here are the details:

Who: Me, daugther Samantha (9), my Mom and my Dad

What: Four nights with Quick Service dining plan (free!)

When: We will arrive Wednesday 10/14 in the early evening and leave Sunday 10/18.

Where: Pop Century!

Here are a few pictures of the players:

Me and my boy Mickey:

Sam with her favorite Duck:

And my parents with Sam at WL last December:

Arrival Day
We live about 2 1/2 hours south of WDW on the east coast of Florida. So, my daughter and I make frequent short weekend trips to WDW. This is our "long" trip of the year, a whopping 4 nights! Sam is off of school on Thursday and Friday so we are planning to head up on Wednesay after school.

My parents will be driving their own car as they will probably come a littel later on Wednesay and plan to leave earlier on Sunday. They do not have AP's so they won't be in the parks as much as us.

We should arrive to Pop Century around dinner time. We plan to check in and get settled (I have to unpack, even for a short trip) and then eat at the food court. I can't wait to have the Parmesan Crusted Chicken again, and for free!

After dinner we will probably go to Downtown Disney to visit Goofy's Candy Co and get the make your own treats. They are so huge that we want to get them early in the trip so we have time to finish them! We will either hang out for a bit at Downtown Disney or head back to the resort for a swim.

My parents should arrive sometime that evening as well, so hopefully we can all just sit out by the pool and have a relaxing late evening.

I'll be back later with our plans for the first full day.

Another October trip! There will be so many BOGP people down there that Debbie might as well live in the parks!

Thanks Marci! We are super excited and have been excitedly (is that a word?) crossing off days on our countdown calendar.

Yes, October seems to be a popular month along with September. I'm sure Debbie wouldn't mind living in the parks for a month or so.

Default Day 2 - Thursday

This will be our first full day. We are going to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party in the evening. Since my parents won't have park passes this day (until the party), we are planning to do some non-park things. We arent exactly sure of our plans (soooo hard for me!) but here are a few of the things we are thinking about.

I do have an ADR at Cape May Cafe for breakfast but my parents aren't sure they want to do that. So either Sam and I will go or we will cancel.

Here we are at Cape May in February with our friends kids:

Our other options for the day are:

Mini-Golf
Characters in Flight at DTD
Beaches & Cream (yum)
Explore Boardwalk area

I guess we'll just see what we feel like doing when we wake up that day. My parents want to check out Beach Club/Yacht Club area so we'll definitely eat over there at some point, either Cape May, Beaches & Cream or something else.

Sam and I may even head over to Animal Kingdom just to ride Everest and Primevel Whirl (her request!) if we feel like it.

Then, the highlight of the day - MNSSHP!!!

My parents aren't sure if they will go to this or not, but Sam and are will definitely be there! Sam and I went for the first time in 2005 on a whim when we knew nothing about the party. We were just so impressed by the party and it has become a can't miss thing for us now. I love everthing about this party.

Here is a walk down memory lane:

2005

2006

2007

2008

OK -- here's my suggestion on how to get a big haul of candy . . . sure worked for me a couple of weekends ago:

Start at Pinnochio's Village Haus. Scoot over to Mickey's Toon Town. Circle through Alice in Wonderland's/Mad Hatter's area (that has lots of candy stops along the way!) and that will eventually put you into Tomorrowland. Hit the two stops there and tah dah! You will have lots of candy. Then circle back to Pinnochio's and repeat.

I went to the 'other side' -- like by the Pirates area but there were not nearly as many candy stops.

Hi Michelle, I'll be following your TR! Sounds like a good plan so far.

One thing we did on our MNSSHP day last year was take the boat to Fort Wilderness and visit DDD ranch. You can meet the headless horseman's horses (I think there are 2 that do the ride) and Sam could do a pony ride. (She may be way beyond this at 9.)
